Busway Using the TSM alternative as a base, the Busway service alternative adds fixed guideway facilities for buses in the primary east/west corridor and north to the airport that are envisioned to operate in a somewhat similar manner as the rail alternatives. These busway routes utilize new exclusive transit roadway facilities (located in the rail corridor) or follow arterial streets, usually in lanes reserved for buses, right turns, and bicycles (diamond lanes) in the Madison area. The Busway Alternative service would only make stops at specific locations, unlike local bus service but more similar to rail service.
